Singing in the Rain Themed Bozeman Wedding

We'll never forget how the blue and white hydrangea arbor looked against the mountains as Lauren and Even said "I do!" It was stormy all morning leading up to the ceremony, but the skies cleared just long enough for their teary eyed ceremony.

(From the bride)

The inspiration for our wedding was 1950’s old Hollywood, but more specifically my favorite movie, Singing in the Rain. So perhaps our wedding day weather was another homage to this theme. My parents were an amazing force of nature in incorporating my favorite vintage movie into everything from the seating chart, to the table numbers, to the photo booth (they made cut out faces of our respective celebrity crushes, Julie Andrews and Gene Kelly).

The color inspiration was both of our favorite colors (blue for the bride and purple for the groom), as no matter what, I wanted to make sure bits of us were incorporated.

Our seating chart had an image from one of my favorite scenes in Singing in the Rain, where Debbie Reynolds is on a ladder, and Gene Kelly is confessing his love for her. My dad brought an old ladder for us to recreate this moment while we took our photos, then he made tiny ladders to hold the table numbers at dinner. He made them, and kept it a complete secret.

Another detail that I loved was that we gave away Harney and Son’s tea as wedding favors. Evan and I love exploring our local tea shops around Seattle, and sharing a mug of tea when we go camping in the gorgeous Pacific North West. It was just so us.
