White Raven Wedding with Sparkler Exit
To say that Ashlin & Luke's wedding day was a fairy tale would be an understatement. From the minute we parked at the White Raven with the gorgeous mountains and venue, we knew today was going to be special. The sun was clouded "just" enough for the perfect light, friends and family were busy bustling around, making sure every detail was picture perfect, and our bride and groom were SO excited to be getting married to their best friend.
No wedding at White Raven ever disappoints and this one was no different! From the very first look between bride and groom where they shared their personal vows to each other (cue the waterworks and happy tears), to the moment they danced out with their "messy hair don't care" sparkler send off, every moment was absolutely magical!
THE (FIRST) PROPOSAL
As fate would have it, less than a week after they met, Ashlin walked into another get-together at a friend's house and spied Luke across the room. After quickly mapping out a strategic approach through the crowd, she "bumped into" Luke in the kitchen and flirtatious conversation ensued. With the well-known courage that only several beers can provide, Luke decided to make a grand gesture. He grabbed a bottle opener adorned with a red jewel off the counter, dropped to a knee, and proposed to Ashlin in the middle of the kitchen. After Ashlin accepted and Luke slipped the opener over her finger, they posed for a "newly engaged" photo op. Phone numbers were exchanged after Luke's smooth delivery of his unforgettable pick up line: "Hey, now that you're my fiancé, I should probably get your number."
THE (REAL) PROPOSAL
Five years after his initial proposal, Luke planned a getaway to Whitefish Lake Lodge. It was a wonderful day spent admiring the autumn colors on their drive around the lake, indulging in huckleberry milkshakes, and wandering through the charming downtown stores. That evening, they went for a walk along the lake together. As a credit to Luke's careful planning of the moment, they reached a small dock just as the sun began to set and Luke got down on one knee. Ashlin couldn't say "yes" fast enough.
